2009 Cherish Every Moment Gala
In 2009, we attended the Cherish Every Moment Gala.
This Alzheimer's Associaton fundraiser creates an atmosphere of fun while still raising awareness for the cause.
The food and beverages served that night were excellent. Well worth the money for a seat at the event.
It was great to meet with Coach Broyles at the event. I had been wanting to personally thank
him for writing The Alzheimer's Playbook
for quite a while. His free book helped me work through some challenges with taking care of dad at various stages
of Alzheimer's. I encourage everyone to read this free, concise guide to better understanding and helping people suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.
A Christmas tree silent auction was also held that night.
Many area businesses and organizations decorated wreaths and trees of all sizes for the auction.
Many wreaths had gift cards worth many times more than the final winning bid.
Not only were these breathtaking wreaths and trees sold at an amazing price,
volunteers would even arrange to deliver trees and set them up in the winner's home for free.
Here is a picture of the tree we won. It was decorated with everything needed to make Christmas cookies.
It also came with cookies under the tree for those who don't like waiting for the oven, like me.
A big "Thank you!" to my wife Dawn Son, co-captain Sarah Parsley, Donald Francis, and Angie Francis for attending this event.
